About Erik Windahl Olsen
As a young technology enthusiast, Erik founded Webhuset in 1998, a web hosting provider which became one of the leading hosting providers in Scandinavia. Webhuset was acquired in 2018 by GoDaddy, the world’s largest web hosting and domain name provider.
For 5 years Erik held the position as Director for GoDaddy’s operations in the Nordics as part of the European leadership team.
In 2022, he completed a management buyout of Webhuset together with the original management team from 2018.
Erik spends his time helping all the companies in the Lucky River portfolio but he doesn’t currently hold an official role in any of them.

Other interests
Erik is a dysfunctional Norwegian who struggles to function below 20 degrees. He has emigrated to southern Spain and he enjoys travelling and working remotely from even warmer places during the winter months.
As a poker enthusiast Erik has drawn inspiration from poker expressions when naming several companies. Lucky River is no exception and refers to a situation in a poker game where a player gets lucky and wins thanks to the river card (the penultimate), even if he was behind with a drawing hand and had few outs.
Lucky River boasts a diverse investment history spanning across various sectors such as music, health, retail, finance and cloud. What unites all these investments is a shared characteristic: robust technology platforms aimed at revolutionizing established markets or pioneering entry into new ones.
If you want to reach out to Erik via email it’s his initials (all three of them) @ this domain name.
